Tigerville, SC - North Greenville completed the sweep of the Chowan Hawks this afternoon with 9-2 and 8-0 victories at Ray & Bea Dillard Field. NGU collected a total of 19 hits throughout the day while holding Chowan to just 7.
Zach Taglieri pitched 5.2 perfect innings before allowing a walk in the 6th. His no-hit bid would come to an end in the 7th, but would still earn the win.
Gehrig Octavio recorded 5 hits for the day.

- North Greenville would quickly get to work in the run column, scoring four in the 1st inning including an RBI double by John Michael Faile, a two run homer by Marek Chlup, and Doug Angeli scoring on a throwing error. Chlup would drive in his third run in the 3rd by way of a sacrifice fly. Two more runs would go on the board in the 5th with an RBI double by Jax Cash and an RBI single by Josh Senter. Starting pitcher Zach Taglieri would take a perfect game bid into the 6th inning, but a two out walk would put an end to the bid. The no-hitter bid would still be in tact, but that would also end with a leadoff base hit in the 7th. Chowan would go on to score two runs in the inning, but Matthew Dailey would record the final two outs to end the game.Â
- Christian Ryder took the mound to start game two. The Crusaders would also get off to a fast start in game two, scoring two runs by way of an RBI single by John Michael Faile and an RBI single by Josh Senter. A pitchers' dual would ensue until the bottom of the 6th when NGU pulled away with a six run inning. Lex Tuten would be the highlight of the inning with a two-RBI triple down the right field line. Dawson Taylor, Jordan Powell, and Tristen Hudson would pitch the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings to complete the shutout.
