NGU Wins Big to Complete Sweep of Southern Wesleyan

Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders completed a four-game sweep of the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University with a final score of 16-2 on a rainy evening at Ray & Bea Dillard Field. NGU scored their runs on 14 hits and 17 walks. With the series complete, the Crusaders now hold an overall record of 16-3 and a conference record of 14-2. John Michael Faile hit his 7th home run of the season.

Recap
  • The Crusaders would get to work quickly, scoring five runs in the 1st including a three-run home run by Jordan Holladay. SWU would respond with a run in the 2nd that scored due to a fielding error. However, NGU would get the run back in the bottom of the inning when Lex Tuten scored on a wild pitch. After an RBI single by Southern Wesleyan in the 3rd, North Greenville would blow the game open in the bottom of the 4th. The eight-run inning was highlighted by a two-run home run by John Michael Faile and a three-run double down the right field line by Lex Tuten. After two scoreless innings, NGU would draw two walks with the bases loaded to add two runs to the board. Jax Cash and Tristen Hudson pitched three up, three down innings to close out the game.
