Offense Stays Hot in Win Over Mars Hill

The North Greenville Crusaders increased their winning streak to four with a 19-8 win over the Mars Hill Lions in Mars Hill, North Carolina. With the win, NGU now holds a winning record for the first time this season and heads to conference play with plenty of momentum. Gunnar Wilson and Thomas Cecere once again led the way with 3 goals each. 

NGU jumped ahead with five unanswered goals in the opening quarter, which were scored by five different players. Mars Hill would score its first of the game to begin the second quarter, but the Crusaders would respond with another five unanswered goals, with two of those scored by Gunnar Wilson. The Lions would end the quarter with the final goal of the half, but North Greenville would take a 10-2 lead into halftime. 

A minute and a half into the 3rd quarter, Brendan Sullivan would put up the opening goal of the quarter to put the Crusaders up by nine. After two goals by Mars Hill, the Crusaders would go on a huge run with seven straight goals in the quarter including Matt Heyden, Matt Miller, Klein Woods, and Lucas Yearwood's first goals of the season. The Lions were able to end the quarter with a goal and would score four of the final five goals of the game, with NGU's lone goal in the 4th coming from Garrett Stanford, his first of the season. Time would expire with the Crusaders taking an eleven point victory.

NGU will head to Belmont, North Carolina to begin conference play against the Belmont Abbey Crusaders on Saturday, March 14th.
