Box Score Tigerville, SC - North Greenville recorded its second conference win of the season with a 78-70 victory over the Saints of Limestone College. The Crusaders shot well yet again, posting a .468 field goal percentage for the game. DJ Brooks tied the season-high with a 25 point performance.
NGU would quickly get on the board with a jump shot by Joe Conley on the opening possession. The game would be tied three times early in the half before the Crusaders jumped ahead with an 8-0 run to lead 19-11. After the Saints ended the drought with a dunk, NGU would go right back to work, pulling way ahead with 17 consecutive points with 15 of those points coming from the three point line. DJ Brooks would score the final five points of the half to give NGU a 44-21 lead at halftime.
Momentum would remain on the side of the Crusaders to begin the second half as North Greenville would start off with a 10-3 run to increase the lead to thirty points. A three pointer by Jacob Redding to give the Crusaders a 60-33 lead would be followed by a four minute scoring drought, allowing the Saints to work their way back into the game. A jump shot by Brooks would finally end the drought, but by then the lead would be cut down to fourteen. Limestone was able to cut the deficit all the way down to five points, but just over a minute remaining, but North Greenville would end the game scoring five of the final seven points to hang on for the victory.
The Crusaders will close out the calendar year with two exhibitions with the first taking place on Wednesday, December 11th against the Furman Paladins in Greenville, SC.
