Box Score Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders began the weekend with a 3-0 victory over the Mount Olive Trojans to tie King University for 4th place in the Conference Carolinas standings and 2nd place in the West division. Caroline Forster had a solid match with 13 kills and 19 total attacks.
The match began with a competitive opening set. North Greenville was able to pull ahead with a 13-7 lead, but the Trojans fought back to pull within one point. However, the Crusaders then pulled away once again, ending the set with an 11-4 to win the opening set 25-17.
Mount Olive would get off to a strong start in set two, taking an early 9-5 lead. Momentum swung back to the Crusaders to tie the set at 13-13. NGU would then go on a dominating 8-0 run to lead 21-13 and ultimately won the set 25-18.
Set three began with an early lead by the Crusaders. A 7-2 run by North Greenville would follow. UMO would cut the deficit to a point, but the Crusaders would close things out to take the third set 25-19.
Tomorrow, North Greenville will face the Belmont Abbey Trojans in Tigerville.
