Box Score Tigerville, SC - North Greenville took over second place in the overall Conference Carolinas standings with a 3-1 victory over the Saints of Limestone College. NGU currently leads the West Division of the standings with a 4-1 conference record and have won nine of the last ten matches. Emma Pepper had a solid match with 10 kills off of 18 attacks and a .444 attack percentage. Katie McManaway led in kills with 11.
North Greenville began the night in dominant fashion, starting the match with a 14-4 lead. However, a fierce run by Limestone cut their deficit to just one point to make the score 17-16. The Crusaders would then take the momentum back to score eight of the final thirteen points to take the opening set 25-21.
Limestone began set two with the advantage, scoring seven of the first ten points. NGU would come back to tie the set at 10-10 before the Saints would open the set back up. The Crusaders continued to fight but were unable to put together another run, ultimately dropping the set 25-17.
The third set saw a repear of the first set as NGU would dominate at first to take a 10-3 lead. Later leading 18-12, the Saints would put together their biggest run of the match, a 7-0 run to take a 19-18 lead. North Greenville was able to fight back to take the lead and not give it back up, narrowly taking the set 25-23.
NGU once again was able to get off to a strong start to set four, posting a quick 7-2 lead. That was followed by a Limestone run to make the score 9-8. The Crusaders were then able to slowly build up their lead to a 21-14 lead. Although Limestone was able to put together a 5-1 run, North Greenville was then able to end the set by scoring three in a row to end the set with a score of 25-19 and take the match.
