Daniko Jackson scores 23 in First Conference Win of Season

The North Greenville Crusaders entered the win column in conference play with a big win over the King Tornado 74-67. North Greenville shot well with a 49.1 field goal percentage and shot 50.0% from three-point range. Roderick Howell posted a double-double with eleven points and ten rebounds while Daniko Jackson put up 23 points.

1st Half

Over two minutes into the game, NGU put the first points up on the board with a Caleb Arrington three-pointer. The Crusaders went on to take an early 12-5 lead. Up 14-8, three-pointers would become the story for North Greenville as the next nine points by NGU were a result of three-pointers. The Crusaders led by as much as nine in the half, but a late run by the Tornado would cut their deficit to four points for a score of 34-30 in favor of North Greenville at the half. Daniko Jackson led the way with fourteen points.

2nd Half

Once again, the Crusaders put up the first points of the half. After King cut the NGU lead down to two points, North Greenville fought back to jump ahead 43-36. From there the two teams would trade points for several minutes before the Tornado would put together a run that allowed them to take their first lead of the game with a score of 59-58. However, the Crusaders quickly fought back with a strong 14-2 run to get a 72-61 lead with a minute and a half left. With the game no longer in doubt, NGU would finish the game with a seven-point victory. Roderick Howell led the half with eleven points.

Individual

Roderick Howell scored 11 points, all in the second half, and ultimately completed a double-double with 10 rebounds.

Daniko Jackson posted 23 points, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds.

Caleb Arrington recorded 16 points and 4 rebounds.

The Crusaders return home to face the Bob Jones Bruins on Saturday, February 2nd in Tigerville.
