Crusaders Unable to Keep Up With Anderson Offense

The North Greenville Crusaders fell to the Anderson Trojans 100-73 in Anderson, SC. Anderson shot an astonishing 71.9% from the field in the second half to score 61 points. NGU shot a respectable 43.6% from the field, but were unable to put a stop to an Anderson offense that was firing on all cylinders. Caleb Arrington had a strong game with 19 points for NGU. Kovi Tate had an impressive performance, posting a double-double.

1st Half

North Greenville fell behind early thanks to a 14-3 run by the Trojans to begin the game. The Crusaders trailed in the half by as much as 16, but would dominate the remainder of the first half to cut the deficit to just three points at the half with a score of 39-36 in favor of Anderson. Caleb Arrington led the Crusaders with 14 points. NGU shot 43.8% from the field for the half.

2nd Half

The two teams traded points for several minutes. However, Anderson's offense would really get going with a 26-6 run to lead 76-49. Eventually, North Greenville's offense would pick back up, but the game was already in hand for the Trojans. AU hit triple digits with 35 seconds remaining. NGU scored the final three points, but the game would come to an end with a final score of 100-73. North Greenville put together a 43.5 field goal percentage in the half. Joe Conley led NGU in points for the half with 12.

Individual

Caleb Arrington scored 19 points with 15 of those coming from three-pointers.

Kovie Tate posted a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds.

Joe Conley recorded 12 points and 5 rebounds.

Upcoming

The Crusaders will have some time off before returning to Hayes Gymnasium to open up conference play against the Southern Wesleyan Warriors on Wednesday, November 28th.
