Box Score North Greenville continues to play strong late in the season with a 3-0 victory over the King Tornado in Bristol, Tennessee. Katie McManway continues to roll with twelve kills and twelve digs while Courtney Williamson also had a strong match with ten kills. With the win, the Crusaders remain in third place in the Conference Carolinas South Division, and are just one game behind the Limestone Saints.
Set 1
The Crusaders took an early lead to begin the match with four of the first five points, but soon fell behind midway. However, NGU would go on a 7-3 run to reclaim the lead and also scored eight of the final twelve points to win the set 25-21.
Set 2
King began the set in dominating fashion with eight of the first ten points. The set seemed to be all but clinched as North Greenville trailed 18-10. However, a huge 13-4 run by the Crusaders would allow them to take their first lead of the set. Extra points would be required, but Emma Pepper came up with a kill to finally put the set to rest with NGU taking it 29-27.
Set 3
Both teams remained even throught the majority of the set. Neither team would lead by two points until very late when the Crusaders scored the final five points of the set to win it 25-21.
Individual
Katie McManaway continues to play well with a 12 kill and 12 dig performance.
Courtney Williamson recorded 10 kills, 30 total attacks, and 6 digs.
Whitley Kahler played key defense with 27 digs.
