Tigerville, S.C. – Karen Donehew scored 17-points to lead all scorers while two other players scored in double-figures for the Crusaders who fell to King University 80-65 in Saturday Conference Carolinas action.

Saturday’s game was less suspenseful than the first meeting as the Tornado took an early 13-point lead just six minutes into the game. King kept the Crusaders at arms length for much of the game, fending off several NGU Flurries as the Crusaders looked to work their way back into contention. Each NGU run was met with a run by the Tornado who finished the day shooting 43.1-percent.

North Greenville finished the day shooting 36.5-percent as a team and was 12 of 35 from three-point range. Mychala Wolfe and Cameron Carter were NGU’s other double-figure scorers with 15 and 12. Carter added three-assists while Donehew led the team in scoring and rebounding with nine boards.

North Greenville trailed by as many as 18-points, a lead, which came in the third quarter for King. The Crusaders continued to show resolve though, battling back to within eight of the Tornado with 4:26 left, plenty of time to stage one final comeback push. The Tornado would push back though, finishing the game on an 8-1 run.

North Greenville, now 4-8 overall and 1-6 in Conference Carolinas play will host the University of Mount Olive on Monday night at 5:30pm.
