Tigerville, S.C.—Alisha Hope scored a team high 19 points, and Timisty Nelson followed with 13, but NGU ran out of answers, as the Flying Fleet downed the Crusaders 81-67 in Conference Carolinas action.

NGU started out cold on offense, starting the game with almost a five minute scoring drought. The Crusaders got their first field goal with 15:14 left in the game, cutting the lead to 10-5, after NGU hit a few free throws earlier in the period. North Greenville trailed by as many as 16 during the frame, but cut the Erskine advantage to just 12 before the half.

NGU shot just 30.8% led by Alisha Hope who scored nine. Timisty  Nelson collected six rebounds during the half to lead North Greenville. Both teams were even in turnovers, but NGU edged the Fleet with 10 to Erskine’s 9. Erskine scored 20 in the paint, while NGU scored 16 in the lane.

North Greenville cut the lead to nine to open up the second half, but the Fleet kept the pressure on the Crusaders. Erskine’s quick 9-0 run would hand it a 51-33 lead. The Flying Fleet would compound the lead, and hold an advantage of 28 points, their highest of the game.

North Greenville finished with just a 30.4 percentage from the field, going just 24-79. Emily Wampler finished with eight for the Crusaders while Krisceda Cotton finished with 9 points. The Crusaders felt to 5-12 on the season in Conference Play. North Greenville will wrap up the regular season on Tuesday night when the Crusaders host King University at 5:30 pm.
