Atlanta, Ga. – The North Greenville Volleyball team snapped
a six game losing skid on Thursday night after defeating the Panthers of Clark
Atlanta University 3-0 while pulling closer to the .500 mark this season
improving to a 7-10 mark.
The first set of the night took some extra serves to decide
and set the tone for NGU after the Crusaders took a 27-25 win. The Crusaders
would ride the momentum of the first set win into the final two sets as they
cruised to wins with scores of 25-15 and 25-19.
Thursday’s win over Clark Atlanta was a much needed change
of pace for the Crusaders and the charge was led by sophomore outside hitter
Rebekah Mayes. Mayes tied for the lead with Kaitlyn Harris with 16 digs
defensively. The Panthers had no answer for Mayes on the offensive attack as
she pounded out 17 kills.
Coach Mosely and his squad will look to ride the momentum of
Thursday’s win into the weekend as they prepare for a two-match afternoon on
Saturday. The Crusaders will open up with Pfeiffer at 1pm on Saturday follwed
by a match with Benedict College at 4pm.
