Trailblazers Fall to Young Harris in Lightning Shortened Game

Tigerville – A fast start for the Mountain Lions proved costly for NGU as the Trailblazers fell to Young Harris 11 – 7 in a lightning shortened game in Pepsi Stadium.

The Trailblazers fell behind 6 – 0 after a quarter and a few minutes in the second. Mary Regan and Josie Rose were able to get NGU on the board with back – to – back goals to cut the deficit to just four but the Lions were able to tack on one more before halftime. The Lions extended the lead to 10 – 4 after Josie Rose and Ava Walls scored for the Trailblazers.

After a lengthy lighting delay before the start of the fourth quarter North Greenville came out swinging. The Trailblazers scored three unanswered goals and chopped the lead down to just 10 – 7. Friday's game however would end early as lighting once again struck and forced the cancelation of the remaining six minutes.
Mary Regan led NGU with two goals. Five others scored a single goal including Caroline Rider and Kami Straub who scored in man – down opportunities. Sydney Spelman finished with seven saves in goal.
