Tigerville – A fast start for the Mountain Lions proved costly for NGU as the Trailblazers fell to Young Harris 11 – 7 in a lightning shortened game in Pepsi Stadium.
The Trailblazers fell behind 6 – 0 after a quarter and a few minutes in the second.
Mary Regan and
Josie Rose were able to get NGU on the board with back – to – back goals to cut the deficit to just four but the Lions were able to tack on one more before halftime. The Lions extended the lead to 10 – 4 after
Josie Rose and
Ava Walls scored for the Trailblazers.
After a lengthy lighting delay before the start of the fourth quarter North Greenville came out swinging. The Trailblazers scored three unanswered goals and chopped the lead down to just 10 – 7. Friday's game however would end early as lighting once again struck and forced the cancelation of the remaining six minutes.
Mary Regan led NGU with two goals. Five others scored a single goal including
Caroline Rider and
Kami Straub who scored in man – down opportunities.
Sydney Spelman finished with seven saves in goal.
