Greenwood, S.C. – North Greenville scored early on Tuesday afternoon and tacked on some late insurance runs late to take down Lander University 14 – 4 in midweek baseball.
The Trailblazers got a pair of runs on ground balls to make it 2 – 0 before landing some bigger punches. Josh Foulks delivered a two – run homer in the second while Skyler Hegler delivered an RBI double that also brought around two runs. The Trailalazers led 8 – 0 after two innings. Lane McGaha entered the home run chat in the fifth inning when he launched a grand slam over the right field wall to extend the lead to 12 – 0.
The Bearcats broke through in the fifth inning with a pair of runs and another in the sixth inning. North Greenville added two more runs in the and another in the seventh.
Josh Foulks and CJ Dean were both 2 – 4 to lead NGU at the plate. Foulks scored four runs and had a pair of RBI while dean scored twice. Cooper Noble was 2 – 5 with a. run and an RBI. Brady Price earned the win after throwing four innings.
