Box Score Greensboro, NC - A game that began as an offensive shootout ended up one-sided as North Greenville was defeated by Belmont Abbey 22-12. NGU had a good day offensively, recording 17 hits including a three-run home run by Ryan Brown. However, defense was an issue as six errors were charged to North Greenville while Belmont Abbey committed none. Caanan Cropper, who was the starting pitcher for NGU, was charged with the loss.
Belmont Abbey had quite a day offensively, scoring in all but two innings and producing 20 hits. Thomas Yoder, Nick Beinlich, and Kennan Stanley all homered in the game.
North Greenville had a productive game at the plate as well. Clark Scolamiero, Brown, Connor Grant, Nathaniel Maggio, Josh Black, and Eric Gilbert all record multiple hits. Brown led the lineup in RBIs with six.
NGU will attempt to keep the season alive later today as they will face Mount Olive in an elimination game.
