Reece Fields and Bennett Roemer Signed to Play Professionally

Two members of North Greenville Baseball are continuing their careers at the professional level, as former Trailblazers Reece Fields and Bennett Roemer have each signed contracts with Major League Baseball organizations.

Fields has signed a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays after spending the past several seasons pitching for the Missoula PaddleHeads of the Pioneer League. The former Trailblazer has enjoyed a breakout 2026 campaign, posting a 3.51 ERA with 54 strikeouts in 48.2 innings for the PaddleHeads before earning the opportunity to join the Blue Jays organization.

Fields pitched for the Trailblazers from 2020-24 and compiled a 4.14 ERA with 342 strikeouts in 332.1 career innings. He played a pivotal role in North Greenville's 2022 NCAA Division II National Championship run, earning Most Valuable Player honors after starting and receiving the win for the national title game. Fields was also named the 2022 Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Year and Conference Carolinas Male Athlete of the Year during his outstanding collegiate career.

Roemer has signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals following the 2026 Major League Baseball Draft. The right-hander capped off an impressive season with the Trailblazers by earning Second Team All-Conference Carolinas honors. In two seasons for the Trailblazers, Roemer posted a 3.98 ERA and an impressive record of 13-3.
