North Greenville has taken the first two games of a three game series against Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, GA. Due to the possibility of threatening weather for Saturday, both teams decided to play a doubleheader on Friday and only one game Saturday.

Sixteen unanswered runs gave North Greenville the 16-7 victory in Game 1 of the series. Eight of North Greenville's batters had multiple hits in the game.

Tucker Burgess got the start in Game 1 for North Greenville while Kyle Spinks took the mound for the Hurricanes. It was a struggle for Burgess, who allowed seven earned runs in two innings. With North Greenville behind 7-0, Zack Kamerman entered the game and was able to stop the bleeding in the third inning. Kamerman would go on to pitch four shutout innings.

The Crusaders would finally get some runs across the board in the top of the fourth inning with back-to-back solo home runs by Nathaniel Maggio and Taylor McCuen.

Another run was scored in the top of the sixth with yet another solo home run, this time by Andrew Frazier.

North Greenville would strike it rich in the top of the eighth inning. With the entire lineup batting in the inning, the Crusaders were able to score eight runs to bring the score to 11-7 in favor of North Greenville.

The Crusaders would add five insurance runs in the ninth inning as well. Avery Greer finished out the game, allowing one hit and a walk but no runs.

Game 2 was dominated by starting pitcher Canaan Cropper, who pitched a complete game shutout and allowed only three hits.

North Greenville's first run of the game came in the third inning with an RBI double by Clark Scolamiero.

Two additional runs for the Crusaders came in the fourth, with Andrew Frazier stealing home and an RBI single by Ryan Brown.

Another run would come in the fifth inning by a sacrifice fly by Nathaniel Maggio, who also hit an RBI single in the seventh.

The two wins bring the Crusaders to 8-2 for the season. They will go for the sweep tomorrow with a schedule start time of 12:00 PM.
