Robbie Gawrys began his career with North Greenville Athletics in 2009 as an undergraduate intern in operations. That experience led to a graduate assistant position, where he worked primarily in sports information. In 2016, he was named the full-time Sports Information Director for the Trailblazers.
During his time in Tigerville, Gawrys has played a key role in the growth and evolution of the athletic communications department. He helped lead the integration of social and creative media as the industry rapidly developed, launching and managing the department’s Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook accounts. Under his direction, those platforms grew from the ground up into some of the most prominent and engaged accounts in Conference Carolinas and among NCAA Division II programs in South Carolina.
Gawrys began working with video and photography in 2011, eventually focusing primarily on photography in later years. He has also served as the department’s lead graphic designer, producing custom content for teams, facilities, and departmental branding initiatives. Beginning in 2018, he took on primary coverage responsibilities for North Greenville football, along with track and field, cross country, and tennis, while continuing to support all 12 varsity programs.
Robbie Gawrys graduated in 2009 with a Bachelors Degree in Sport Management. He complete his Masters in Education (MEd) from the Walter T. Brashier Graduate School in 2016A native of Columbia, South Carolina, Gawrys remains closely connected to his roots while residing in Greenville.
