Matt Williams

Matt Williams is in his fifth season as assistant coach with North Greenville baseball as the infield and hitting coach for the Trailblazers. He made his way to Tigerville after his playing career at the University of South Carolina. 

As a player at USC, Williams played in a total of 140 games in four seasons for the Gamecocks. His career highlight was a game-tying pinch-hit home run in the 8th inning against Clemson in 2018. USC would go on to win the game 3-2 in walk-off fashion. He played in 140 – games for South Carolina with 78 starts. 

Matt Williams has helped lead Trailblazers have made the post season every season since arriving in Tigerville as well as helping the team to a Division II National Championship in 2022 and a return trip to Carey in 2023. 

Williams graduated from the University of South Carolina in the Spring of 2018 with a degree in Public Health.
