He is also currently a member of the Conference Carolinas Digital Network Standards Committee.

Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, Alan attended Richland Northeast High School as a freshman and sophomore before he and his family relocated to Anderson, South Carolina, where he graduated at T.L. While at Midlands Tech, Alan played the baritone as a member of the Mighty Sound of the Southeast, the University of South Carolina Marching Band for the 2010, 2011, and 2012 football seasons as well as the 2010-11 and the 2012-13 basketball seasons. After receiving an Associate in Arts degree, Alan then transferred to North Greenville in 2013 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications degree in 2015.
