Abi Oates joined the North Greenville University staff as the Compliance Coordinator in August 2025, following an outstanding five-year career with the Women’s Basketball program.
Oates signed a National Letter of Intent in the spring of 2020 to play for former head coach Kelvin Long and the Crusaders. She played five seasons (2020–2025) with the Crusaders/Trailblazers, appearing in all 127 games of her career. Over that time, she totaled 1,056 points, 342 rebounds, and posted a .342 three-point shooting average. A highlight of her playing career came during the 2023–2024 season when she helped lead the team to a Southwest Division title in Conference Carolinas.
In her current role, Oates is responsible for ensuring compliance with NCAA legislation in areas such as financial aid, eligibility, recruiting, athletics personnel, and playing/practice seasons. She also ensures that North Greenville University adheres to compliance rules and regulations issued by Conference Carolinas.
