Fletcher comes to North Greenville from Mississippi College where he spent the previous three seasons as a graduate assistant and interim assistant coach in the spring of 2020. Fletcher will work with NGU's sprints, hurdles, jumps, and pole vaults.Â

Prior to his coaching career, Lane Fletcher attended Shorter University where he was the Gulf South Conference champion in the men's decathlon in 2018. He was also the runner up in the decathlon as well as men's pole vault for the Peach Belt Conference. Fletcher was also part of the Shorter University Men's 4x100 team which competed in the NCAA Division II championship.Â

He quickly proved his ability as a coach with the Choctaw track and field program,  where he also worked with sprints, jumps, and hurdles. Under his tutelage, the Choctaws claimed 55-GSC All-Conference nods, six Gulf South Champions across four events, six Gulf South records, a GSC Men's Freshman of the Year, 30-USTFCCCA All-Region athletes, and one USTFCCCA region Athlete of the Year. The program had one NCAA D-II national qualifier in the women's long jump.Â

He earned his Track & Field as well as Strength and Conditioning certifications through the USTFCCCA.Â
Lane Fletcher and his wife Ayana, who is a former Division II national champion in the 400-meter, have a son Walker, who is one year old. Â
