Playing Experience
In his youth, Fite distinguished himself as a talented player, earning recognition as a former member of the Youth United States National Team in 1997. He also contributed to the success of the North Texas Youth State and National Cup (USYS) teams from 1996 to 1998 and was a member of the North Texas State and Region III Olympic Development Program teams from 1994 to 1998.
Continuing his soccer journey at Oklahoma City University (NAIA) from 1998 to 2000. The OCU Chiefs reached the Regional Tournament in 1998 and 1999. He helped them be nationally ranked in 1998 and 1999 seasons. Fite quickly made his mark by receiving the Newcomer of the Year award in 1998 and earning First Team All-Conference honors from 1998 to 2000.
Fite's professional and semi-professional playing career included stints with the OKC Devils (SISL) from 1998 to 2000 and the DFW Tornados (PDL) from 2001 to 2004, showcasing his commitment to excellence at the highest levels of the sport. He trialed with Kansas City Comets of the MISL in 2000.
Coaching Experience
Beginning his coaching career in youth soccer, Fite served as a Staff Coach for esteemed clubs such as Dallas Inter Soccer Club (2001-2004), FC Dallas Soccer Club (2004-2008), DFW Tornados Soccer Club (2008-2010), and American Eagles Soccer Club (2010-2014). He played a pivotal role in developing young talent and elevating his coaching skills during this time. Stephen holds a USSF National Coaching License.
Transitioning to professional/semi-professional and amateur levels, Fite served as General Manager and Assistant Head Coach for the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) and the Men's United Soccer League (USL U20) at the American Eagles Soccer Club from 2010 to 2014.
In his recent coaching roles, Fite has served as Assistant Coach for the NGU Men's Soccer program since 2021, where he also assumed the position of Reserve Team Head Coach. Under his leadership, the team achieved its first winning season and secured its inaugural trophy in program history by winning the Conference Carolinas Developmental Tournament. Additionally, Fite played a vital role in guiding the NGU first team to unprecedented success in 2022, including finishing the regular season with program highest finish tied for 2nd place, reaching the final four of the Conference Carolinas Tournament, earning National and Regional rankings, and securing multiple all-conference honors for the NGU players.
