Corey Struss has led North Greenville men’s lacrosse since the program’s inception, serving as the only head coach in program history and building the Trailblazers from the ground up. Now in his 13th season at NGU and with 14 years of coaching experience overall, Struss has guided the program to sustained growth and success, highlighted by the 2025 Conference Carolinas Championship.
As the head coach, Struss is the overseer of recruiting, practice planning, budgeting, fundraising, and scheduling. He is also a member of the NCAA Division II Men’s Lacrosse RAC Committee as well as the USILA Poll Committee, the Division II Coaches Connection Committee, and the Conference Carolinas Committee Chair. The program’s latest accolades include: a Conference Carolinas Championship appearance, a 10-7 record and had multiple USILA All-Americans. The team also recently boasted a cumulative GPA of a 3.10 in the 2022-2023 academic year.
Coach Struss came to North Greenville from Ohio Valley University, where he spent a year as assistant coach for the Fighting Scots. In 2012, Struss was named head coach of the Scots, where he spent two seasons. He graduated from Seton Hill University in 2010, where he was a three-year starting goalkeeper for the Griffins. As a player, the team captain collected numerous accolades including the “most improved” award in 2008, two-time team defensive MVP in 2009 & 2010, and was a 2010 All-ECC honorable mention. He helped lead the Griffins to a then program-high NCAA Division II of #6.
Corey Struss earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing from Seton Hill and a Masters of Arts in Education from Ohio Valley University in 2013. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA and is married to Amanda Struss, who played women's lacrosse at Seton Hill University. They have a two-year-old daughter named Corinne Lee Struss and a one year old daughter Joanna. Struss enjoys spending time with his family and two bloodhounds as well as playing video games and going to concerts.
