High School: Played at Clover High School under Brian Lane and was a two-time All-Region selection. He was named to the 2017 Rock Hill Herald All-Area Team and was an All-Gazette Football Team honoree. Was also named the Rock Hill Herald "Hawg of the Week" three times. 

Personal: Born Garrett Lutz on October 22, 1999, and is the son of Wanda Benton and James Lutz. From Clover South Carolina.
