Maurice Duncan enters his first season as the team's Defensive Coordinator heading in to the 2021 season. Duncan came to North Greenville University in 2015, serving as the defensive backs coach and recruiting coordinator before his promotion to coordinator in the spring of 2021.. He previously was at Wheeler High School after a stint at Georgia Tech, where he spent three seasons as a graduate assistant with the Ramblin’ Wreck.

Duncan worked with the defensive backs at Tech and will assume the same responsibilities at NGU. Duncan entered the college coaching ranks after working as an assistant coach at Luella High School in Locust Grove, Georgia, where he was also in charge of the strength and conditioning program.

While at Furman, Duncan spearheaded a 2004 defense that was ranked first in the Southern Conference in scoring defense as the team rose to fifth in the country while advancing to the quarterfinals of the NCAA playoffs. Duncan finished his career with 116 total tackles and five interceptions. He was a four-year letterman with the Paladins and won two Southern Conference Championships. 

During his time at North Greenville Coach Duncan has had a pair of All-Conference selections under his guidance including Aaron Watson and Johnny Worthy. Watson earned first and second team nods in 2018 and 2019 while Worthy was a first team selection in 2019. Watson also notched an All-Region First team nod following the 2018 selection. 

Duncan Graduated in 2005 with a major in Health and Exercise Science. He is a native of Aiken, South Carolina. He and his wife Aja have four children, Elijah, Alasia, Noah, and Judah.
