North Greenville University

Bennett Houston enters his first season as a full time coach for the North Greenville football team after spending the last four as a student assistant with the program. In his first season with the program, Houston helped with the linebackers while also working with the day-to-day operations of the football team. He spent the last three seasons working with the team’s defensive backs while assuming the title of equipment manager as well.

Houston will continue to work with the defensive backs during the 2015 season as a defensive graduate assistant. Houston has been a part of two of NGU’s best seasons including the playoff run in 2011 in which the Crusaders went 11-3 and made it to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II playoffs as well as last season’s NCCAA Victory Bowl Championship.

The Easley, South Carolina native helped lead the NGU secondary to a top five ranking in passing defense last season. He is a graduate of North Greenville University, finishing in 2015 with a degree in Sport Management with a focus on coaching.
