The North Greenville Trailblazers fell by a final score of 3-0 to unbeaten Anderson University in non-conference action in Anderson, South Carolina. The Trojans scored once in the opening half and twice in the second half to improve to 6-0-2, while North Greenville moved to 2-5-1 on the season.
Anderson applied pressure early, forcing North Greenville goalkeeper Cohen Brinkley to make five saves over the opening 16 minutes. The Trojans broke through at the 33:50 mark when Adrian Castillo Monton set up Luis Munoz for his third goal of the season, giving the Trojans a 1-0 advantage. That score would remain going into halftime.
The Trojans doubled their lead at 57:13 when Castillo Monton scored his fifth goal of the season off assists from Munoz and Jace Hicks. Anderson added another at 71:46, with Nicolas Ortiz assisting Jonas Zethofer on his fourth goal of the year to make it 3-0.
NGU finished the night with seven total shots. Emilio Galeas recorded the Trailblazers' lone shot on goal, while Alec Myers, Zac Zborovsky, Emmanuel Orihuela, Chase Fandel, Nedas Vaivada and Anden Coats each added an attempt.
Brinkley played the opening 78:05 in goal and finished with seven saves while facing 10 shots on goal. Leo Prosdocimo took over for the final 11:55 and stopped the one shot on goal he faced. The eight combined saves were a season-high for North Greenville.
The Trailblazers will return to action on Saturday, September 26th against the Panthers of Ferrum College at Pepsi Stadium.
