Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers erupted for four goals in the second half Saturday afternoon at Pepsi Stadium, defeating Erskine College 4-0 to earn their first victory of the 2026 season and win number one for first-year head coach Stephen Fite. Four different Trailblazers found the back of the net, while Ana Maria Pinzon recorded two assists. The victory improved North Greenville to 1-5-1 overall and 1-2-1 in Conference Carolinas play, while Erskine fell to 1-5-0 overall and 1-4-0 in the conference.
North Greenville controlled things throughout the opening half but was unable to break through. The Trailblazers held Erskine without a shot during the first 45 minutes while putting up four shots and three corner kicks of their own. Parker Christmas recorded NGU's lone shot on goal in the half, but her attempt in the 14th minute was stopped as the teams went into halftime scoreless.
The Trailblazers wasted little time changing the match after the break. Pinzon entered to begin the second half and helped create the opening goal just over two minutes later. Jaycee Watkins finished off Pinzon's assist at 47:21 for her first goal of the season, giving North Greenville a 1-0 advantage.
NGU continued applying pressure and doubled the lead in the 59th minute when Maylie Diaz found the back of the net at 58:14 for her first goal of the season, making it 2-0. The Trailblazers nearly struck again just 21 seconds later when an Isabella Gyurich attempt hit the right post.
North Greenville's third goal arrived at 62:35 when Jordan Vaughn scored for the first time this season off Pinzon's second assist of the afternoon. Christabel Kirkham then posted her first goal of the year, giving the Trailblazers four goals in a span of just over 21 minutes.
Gyurich led North Greenville with five shots, including two on goal, while Finley Lloyd finished with four shots and two on target.
NGU will return to action on Saturday, September 26th against the Mountain Lions of Young Harris College at Pepsi Stadium.
