Trailblazers Take Game One of Series Against Young Harris

Tigerville - North Greenville earned a game one win on Friday over Young Harris 4 - 3 in a critical three - game set between the two league rivals.

North Greenville took an early lead with a two run second inning. Josh Foulks delivered a solo shot to put NGU on the board first. A Skyler Hegler added to the lead with an RBI single. A solo run by the Lions in the third inning cut the lead in half. Young Harris gained the lead three innings later. The Mountain Lions connected on a two run single that earned the visitors a two run advantage.

The Trailblazers wouldn't stay down for long as Landon Peavy would lead off the home half of the seventh inning with a game tying homer to make it 3 - 3. The long ball would be key for NGU again in the eighth inning when CJ Dean turned on one and sent it over the left field fence to score the go-ahead and eventual game winning run.

Young Harris would threaten in the top of the ninth but NGU closer Kaden Roach would slam the door with consecutive outs to ensure the win. Foulks led NGU going 3 - 4 with a run and an RBI. Lane McGaha and Landon Peavy were both 2 - 4. Peavy had a run and an RBI on his solo homer. CJ Dean finished 1 - 4. North Greenville pitching held the Lions in check, allowing three runs on 11 - hits. Thomas Skipper was credited with his third win of the season while Roach earned his second save.
