Spartanburg, S.C. - North Greenville picked up a hard-fought 17-14 win over Converse on Tuesday at Weisiger Stadium, using a dominant third quarter to pull away.
After trailing 4-2 at the end of the first quarter and 8-7 at halftime, the Trailblazers surged in the third, erupting for eight goals to take control of the game.
Kami Straub led the offensive effort with four goals, including multiple man-up scores, while Aubree Mayse and Caroline Rider each added three goals. Mary Regan and Josie Rose chipped in two goals apiece as North Greenville's balanced attack proved too much down the stretch.
The Trailblazers also controlled possession throughout the contest, winning 23 draw controls and outshooting Converse 33-31.
Converse was paced by Karter Lauer's six goals, but North Greenville answered every push in the second half, sealing the win with a late fourth-quarter goal to secure the three-goal victory.
