NGU Completes Sweep of Emmanuel on Senior Day

Tigerville, SC – The North Greenville Trailblazers earned a dominant doubleheader sweep of Emmanuel (GA) this afternoon at Jan McDonald Field, taking game one by a score of 10-1 and game two 9-1.

North Greenville wasted no time setting the tone in game one, breaking things open with four runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning highlighted by RBI hits from Maddie Stone, Laci Jarrell, and Emily Blackwell. The Trailblazers continued to build momentum with a solo home run by Lexie Metcalf in the 3rd and added insurance runs in each of the following innings. NGU capped off the win with two runs in the 6th, including a two-RBI double by Haylee Whitesides to secure the run-rule victory.

Game two followed a similar script as the Trailblazers once again controlled the game early. After a scoreless opening inning, NGU struck in the 2nd with a two-RBI single by Emily Blackwell. North Greenville blew the game open in the 4th inning with five runs, highlighted by an RBI double from Lexie Metcalf and additional run-producing plays from Karley Green and Ansley Fowler. The Trailblazers added two more runs in the 5th to seal the second run-rule win of the day.

Emily Blackwell led the offense across both games, going 4-for-6 with 5 RBIs. Maddie Stone added a strong performance at the plate, finishing 4-for-8 with 4 RBIs, while Lexie Metcalf contributed 3 hits and 3 RBIs, including a home run and a double.

NGU will return to action on Wednesday, April 1st against the Wasps of Emory & Henry University in Emory, Virginia.
