Tigerville – North Greenville got out of the gates quickly on Wednesday night and never looked back en route to a 20 – 13 win over Lander University.
The Trailblazers turned in one of their best first quarters of the season on Wednesday evening with 10 – goals. The first period barrage was kicked off with five goals in less than five minutes. Three of those five goals came less than 30 – seconds apart as
Connor Castle,
Cole Jenkins, and
Caden Castle scored at the 14:21, 14:12, and 14:03 mark of the first.
Caden Castle added two more scores in the opening frame while
Steven Huls Jr. scored twice.
The Bearcats tried to claw their back in to the game but North Greenville was able to hold them at bay. Lander cut NGU's lead down to just seven after the Trailblazers took a 10 – goal advantage later in the third quarter. NGU scored five goals in the third and another three in the fourth.
Huls Jr. led NGU with five goals on the night.
Yates Miller and Caden and
Connor Castle both had three goals.
Aydan Sizemore had a team high three assists and a goal.
Matthew Desmond had 13 saves in the goal.
