Newberry, S.C. – North Greenville split a non-conference double-header on Saturday losing 5 – 2 but bouncing back to get a 5 – 3 win in game two.
The Trailblazers scored a pair of runs in the first inning on a Maddi Stone double that scored a pair of runs, the only runs of the game for the visitors. NGU held on to the game one lead until the fifth inning when the Wolves scored their second run of the game to even the tally. Newberry scored three runs in the sixth inning on a two – run homer and an RBI single to earn the game one win.
Emily Blackwell finished 2 – 4 with a run scored for NGU. Six other players had one hit each. Ansley Folwer scored NGU's second run.
Karley Green took the loss in the ciricle after throwing six innings.
In game two the Wolves were the ones to jump out to an early 2 – 0 lead with a pair of runs in the first inning. The Trailblazers waited until the third inning to scratch across their first run as Ansley Folwer singled up the middle to score

Emily Blackwell. A run in the fourth inning on a Halee Whiteside sac fly made it 3 – 2.
The Trailblazers added some insurance in the fifth inning when
Sophie Whitley singled in a pair of runs. Newberry tacked on one run in the bottom of the fifth but were held scoreless in the final two frames for NGU to take the win.
Emily Blackwell finished the second game 3 – 4 with a run scored.
Ansley Fowler was 2 – 4 with a pair of RBI while
Lexie Metcalf was 2 – 3 with a run scored.
Owyen Lyall earned the win in the circle with a complete game effort.
