Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers were victorious this afternoon at Hayes Gymnasium with a 3-1 victory over the Bulldogs of Barton College. NGU improved to 4-2 overall with a 3-1 record in conference play. NGU controlled the pace in set one, going on to win it comfortably 25-17. Set two proved to be more of a challenge for NGU, but they would hang on to take it with a score of 25-21. Barton wouldn't go down without a fight, winning set three 25-18. However, North Greenville would still end the afternoon early by winning set four 25-19. NGU finished the match with a .189 hit percentage and led in kills and digs but trailed in points, aces, and blocks.
Yoriano Velez Vega led NGU with 16 kills and also posted a double-double with 10 digs in addition to 2 block assists and an assist.
Logan Keothavy recorded 14 kills, 9 digs, 2 assists, and a block assist.
Andrew Copp provided 35 assists, 7 digs, a solo block, and a block assist.
NGU will face the Wolves of Newberry College on Tuesday, March 3rd in Newberry, South Carolina.
