Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers advanced to the Conference Carolinas Tournament semifinals with a 3-1 victory over the Erskine Flying Fleet at Hayes Gymnasium. After falling behind in the first set with a score of 25-22, NGU recovered by taking the second set in extra points with a score of 27-25. NGU would continue to carry the momentum by winning set three with a score of 25-19. Erskine would challenge the Trailblazers in set four, but ultimately NGU would pull away late to take it 25-20. North Greenville finished the match with a .227 attack percentage. Erskine dominated the night in blocks, but NGU would lead the match in every other category, including kills, service aces, assists, and digs.
Carter Shomock posted fifteen kills, four service aces, and two block assists.
Logan Keothavy recorded fourteen kills, nine digs, and a block assist.
Michael de la Cruz finished with nine kills, eight digs, two block assists, a solo block, and a service ace.
NGU will face the Trojans of the University of Mount Olive on April 25th in the semifinals of the Conference Carolinas tournament in Bristol, Tennessee.
