Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers were able to get off to a solid start in a weekend conference series at Ray & Bea Dillard Field with an 8-0 shutout victory over the Lions of Emmanuel University.
Brody Fowler took the start on the mound. Pitching controlled the first four innings as it wouldn't be until the bottom of the 5th when the Trailblazers got on the board by way of an RBI single by
Landon Shaw. Emmanuel pitching kept things close until the bottom of the 6th, where North Greenville would break things open with seven runs including a two-run home run by
Tristan Salinas and RBI doubles by
Gideon Antle and
Alton Gyselman.
Lane McGaha also hit an RBI single while
Brett Blomquist capped off the scoring with a two-RBI single.
Kadan Roach relieved Fowler in the 7th inning while
Connor Brinson pitched the final two innings to preserve and complete the shutout.
Brett Blomquist finished the game with three hits including a double as well as two RBIs and a run scored.
Alton Gyselman posted two hits, both doubles addition to two runs scored and an RBI.
Brody Fowler pitched 6.0 shutout innings, allowing just one hit and a walk while striking out eight.
North Greenville and Emmanuel will complete the weekend series with a doubleheader beginning at noon.
