Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers split a doubleheader this afternoon at Jan McDonald Field with the Pacers of USC Aiken with USC Aiken taking game one with a score of 5-3 and NGU completing a come-from-behind victory with a score of 12-10. NGU took an early lead in game one, but ultimately came up short after USC Aiken scored a run in the 6th and two in the 7th.
Karley Green pitched a complete game but received the loss. USC Aiken struck first in game two with a five-run 2nd inning. Down 7-1 going into the bottom of the 4th, the Trailblazers put together an eleven run inning that included a grand slam by Ali Harin and a two-run home run by
Maddie Stone. USCA responded with a run in the 5th and two runs in the 6th, but NGU would hang on to win by two runs.
Kylie Rast was the winning pitcher while
Georgia Lieb earned NGU's first save of the season.
Emily Blackwell finished the day with four hits including a triple along with four runs scored, two RBIs, a walk, and a stolen base.
Ali Hartin posted two hits including a grand slam in addition to a run scored.
Maddie Stone recorded three hits including a home run, four RBIs, a walk, and a run scored.
NGU will return to action on Wednesday, February 12th against the Wasps of Emory & Henry University at Jan McDonald Field.
