Tigerville, SC - North Greenville pulled away early and was able to hang on throughout the game for a 12-7 victory over the Flames of Lee University at Ray & Bea Dillard Field. NGU was able to take advantage of control issues for Lee's pitching staff, leading to seven runs in the 1st inning. After a scoreless inning, the Flames would score one run in every remaining inning, finishing with seven runs. However, the Trailblazers were able to keep their lead manageable by scoring more runs in the middle innings, including a three-RBI double by
Matthew Albritton.
Jake Sears would score the final run for North Greenville in the bottom of the 8th by way of an RBI single. A total of nine NGU pitchers took the mound during the game, with
Matthew Taubensee closing things out.
Cole Munhall took the win.
Matthew Albritton posted two hits including a double, which was the only extra-base hit for NGU. He also brought in four runs.
Tristan Salinas finished his day with two hits, three runs, a walk, and a stolen base.
Jake Sears recorded a hit, three runs, two RBIs, and two stolen bases.
