North Greenville improved their record to 4-4 overall and a 3-2 record in conference play with a 3-1 victory over the Lions of Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Georgia. The Trailblazers were able to outlast the Lions in the opening set, winning it in extra points with a score of 26-24. Momentum stayed with NGU in the second set for a 25-19 set win. The Lions bounced back to take a close set three with a score of 25-23 before North Greenville was able to end things with a comfortable 25-18 set win. NGU dominated the match in total kills 54-32. North Greenville also led in assists 51-32 while trailing in service aces as well as blocks.
Carter Shomock put together an impressive twenty kills and also provided five digs and a block assist.
Thomas Roper posted eleven kills, six digs, three assists, and a block assist.
Nick Tangney finished with nine kills, seven digs, an assist, and a block assist.
North Greenville will return to action on Saturday, February 22nd to take on the Belmont Abbey Crusaders at Hayes Gymnasium.
