The North Greenville Trailblazers were able to overcome a 2-0 deficit to defeat Lees-McRae College by way of a reverse sweep in Banner Elk, North Carolina. NGU fell behind in two close sets, falling in set one with a score of 26-24 and also dropping set two with a score of 25-22. However, North Greenville bounced back to dominate set three 25-16 and held on to also take set four with a score of 25-22. A thrilling set five ultimately resulted in a Trailblazer victory as they would go on to win it with a score of 15-12. NGU dominated the night in blocks, leading the category 9-3 while also narrowly leading in kills, aces, assists, and digs. NGU finished the night with a .318 attack percentge.
Michael de la Cruz posted a fifteen kill performance along with six block assists, three service aces, two digs, and an assist.
Carter Schomock also recorded fifteen kills as well as five block assists, a service ace, and an assist.
Logan Taylor provided forty assists, nineteen digs, two service aces, and a block assist.
NGU will face the Bulldogs of Barton College on Friday, February 14th at Hayes Gymnasium.
