North Greenville Scores First in Draw With USC Aiken

Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers scored their first goal of the season, but were unable to hang on to the lead which ultimately resulted in a 1-1 draw with the Pacers of USC Aiken this afternoon at Pepsi Stadium. NGU was able to get on the scoreboard in the 30th minute when Aleisha Lamb scored found the back of the net. The Trailablazers managed ten shots in the first half while holding the Pacers to just three with North Greenville going into halftime with a 1-0 lead. NGU continued to put up shots throughout the second half, but USC Aiken made the most of four second half shots, scoring the equalizer in the 74th minute. North Greenville led in shots 12-4 in the half, but were unable to reclaim the lead as the Trailblazers and Pacers would end things in a tie. The result puts NGU's overall record at 0-2-1.

Aleisha Lamb scored her first goal of the season and also posted a total of seven shots with four on goal. Marli Cevallos recorded six shots with five on goal. Haleigh Holland provided one save as the NGU defense limited the number of shots by USC Aiken.

North Greenville will return to action on Saturday, September 14th against the Braves of UNC Pembroke at Pepsi Stadium.
