Rockey Gaines Takes Over as Head Coach for North Greenville Cheer

Rockey Gaines has been tabbed as the new head cheerleading coach at North Greenville University as announced by Athletic Director Will Lowrey. 
 
With over two decades of experience in coaching competitive cheer and tumbling across high schools, all-stars, as well as at collegiate level, bringing a wealth of knowledge and passion to the position. 
 
Rockey's journey has been marked by excellence, securing multiple national titles both as a cheerleader and coach, and representing teams at the prestigious Cheerleading Worlds. Throughout his career, Gaines has collaborated with high schools, cheer gyms, dance studios, and gymnastics facilities across the state, earning a reputation as a trusted figure in the cheer and tumbling industry. He graduated from NGU in 2018 with a degree in business administration, making this new role a special homecoming.

"Rockey has the energy, experience, and vision to take our cheer program to the next level," remarked Athletic Director Will Lowrey. "We will make sure he has the resources needed to succeed." 
 
Beyond the cheer mat, Rockey enjoys spending quality time with his wife Alisha and their four wonderful children, ranging from ages 10 to under 1 year old. Rockey's dedication to both his faith and family embodies the spirit and values of North Greenville University. Outside of work and family, He enjoys competitive shooting, pickleball, and smoking some tasty meals on the smoker!
