NGU women's lacrosse fell to the Valkyries of Converse University this evening in Spartanburg, South Carolina with a final score of 22-6. Converse dominated the first half by scoring the opening six goals and went on to shutout NGU in the 2nd quarter to take a 14-2 lead into halftime. The Crusaders continued to fall behind further in the second half as Converse would continue to pull away further, ultimately winning by sixteen goals. North Greenville posted a total of twenty shots and ten ground balls. Turnovers proved to be an issue for both teams as they would finish with nearly identical numbers 18-17 with Converse committing one more than NGU.
Emma Mayew scored half of North Greenville's goals, finishing with 3 for the day. She also posted 4 ground balls, 2 caused turnovers, and 2 draw controls.
Ainsley Woodham finished with a goal as well as an assist.
Kylie Keen posted a goal as well as 2 ground balls, 2 caused turnovers, and 2 draw controls.
NGU will return to action on Senior Day on Saturday, April 13th against the Mountain Lions of Young Harris College at Pepsi Stadium.
