Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders put together a come-from-behind victory with a 6-5 win against the Cobras of Coker University this evening at Ray & Bea Dillard Field. NGU trailed in the first seven and a half innings but came through in the bottom of the 8th with a go-ahead home run by
Dakota Britt before
Nate Roof shut things down to earn the save. Coker was able to get on the board early with two runs in the top of the 1st. They would extend the lead in the 3rd with two additional runs, but NGU put two runs on the board in the bottom of the 4th with solo shots by
David Lewis and
Kaleb Hall. The Cobras extended their lead back to three with a run in the 6th, but the Crusaders would complete the comeback in the 8th.
Dawson Taylor was the winning pitcher, who pitched the 8th inning.
David Lewis went 2 for 4 at the plate with a home run and finished with 2 runs and 2 RBIs.
Dakota Britt hit the go-ahead home run and posted 2 RBIs and a run scored.
Caleb Cox pitched 2.0 scoreless inning with just 1 hit and 1 walk allowed.
NGU will face the Patriots of Francis Marion University on Friday, April 12th at Ray & Bea Dillard Field.
