Women's Basketball Season Comes to Close with Close Loss to Emmanuel

The North Greenville Crusaders concluded their 2023-24 season with a tough loss to the Lions of Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Georgia with a final score of 69-64. After trailing at the end of the 1st quarter by five, the Crusaders led the 2nd quarter by a point to go into halftime with just a four point deficit. NGU would again outscore the Lions by a single point in the 3rd to go into the final quarter down by just three points. The lead would change hands several times throughout the quarter, and although North Greenville would have an opportunity to tie the game with just seconds remaining, it would ultimately be Emmanuel who would hold the final lead. NGU led the game in field goal percentage, finishing with a .385 percentage while Emmanuel recorded a .355 percentage. Second chance points proved to be the different as the Lions nearly doubled the Crusaders in offensive rebounds 15-8 and nearly tripled North Greenville in second chance points 17-6. With the season complete, North Greenville finishes with a 17-10 overall record with a 10-8 record in conference play. 

Amaijah Smith ended her season with an impressive 18 points as well as 7 assists, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, and a block. Geassy Germano wrapped up her collegiate career with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 blocks. Greyson Boone also finished her career with double-digit points, recording 10 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and an assist.
