Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders put together a 3-1 victory against the Pioneers of Tusculum University this evening at Hayes Gymnasium. North Greenville took the opening set in extra points with a score of 27-25. However, Tusculum would respond by taking set two in extra points as well with a score of 26-24. The Crusaders would then reclaim the lead with a 25-19 set three win. Both teams recorded their best set attack percentages of the match in set four, but it would be NGU who was able to narrowly come out on top with a score of 25-23. Although North Greenville was dominated in blocks by Tusculum 9-1, the Crusaders dominated a category of their own, leading the night in service aces 7-1. NGU also led the night in kills 52-51.
Diego Rosich put together a solid evening with 15 kills and 6 digs.
Michael de la Cruz posted 13 kills, 5 digs, 3 service aces, an assist, and a block assist.
Tom Curry also recorded double-digit kills with 10 while also providing 6 digs, a block assist, and an assist.
NGU will return to action tomorrow against the Flying Fleet of Erskine College tomorrow at Hayes Gymnasium.
