Tigerville – North Greenville split a Conference Carolinas double-header with Southern Wesleyan on Saturday bouncing back from a 7 – 0 loss with an 8 – 2 win in game two.
The Crusaders finished with five hits in the first game but were unable to scratch across any runs. The Warriors finished with nine – hits. The game was scoreless until the sixth inning when Southern Wesleyan scored the first run of the game. The Warriors tacked on six runs in the top of the seventh inning to help secure the win.
North Greenville stranded five runners in the first game loss including two runners In scoring position.
Emily Blackwell led North Greenville in game one with two hits in three appearances.
North Greenville broke out the bats early in game two, scoring six runs in the first inning.
Karley Green delivered a two RBI hit to bring around NGU's first runs of the day.
Virginia Bishop and
Lexis Wilkinson also registered RBI. The Crusaders added runs in the fourth and fifth innings to help cement the win.
Sydney Clark was dominant in the circle for NGU in the second game, not allowing a Southern Wesleyan run until fourth inning. The Warriors finished with just two runs on two hits. She struck out five in the winning effort.
Karley Green and
Virginia Bishop both finished the second game with three hits and a pair of RBI each. Green finished with a pair of runs scored while Bishop came around once for a run.
Emily Blackwell was 3 – 4 with two runs scored while
Lexis Wilkinson was 2 – 4 with two RBI and a run.
