Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders began the 2024 season with a win over the Indians of Catawba College with a final score of 13-7 this evening at Pepsi Stadium. NGU trailed early on as Catawba scored three of the first four goals. However, NGU responded with the final goal of the 1st quarter then outscored the Indians 5-1 in the 2nd quarter to take a 7-4 lead into halftime. The Crusaders continued to carry the momentum in the 3rd quarter, scoring five of six goals to lead 12-5. CAT led the 4th quarter with two of the three goals, but North Greenville would hang on for a six point victory. NGU ended the night leading in total shots 27-21 as well as ground balls 20-14 and caused turnovers 10-5.

Isabella Ortiz led the way in goals with a total of 4 and also provided 2 assists, 4 caused turnovers, and 3 ground balls. Kylie Keen posted 3 goals, 2 assists, and a draw control. Emma Mayew and Katie Keller both ended the night with 2 goals and an assist.

North Greenville will head to Montevallo, Alabama to take on the University of Montevallo on Friday, February 9th.
