Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders were victorious over the Bobcats of Georgia College & State University this afternoon at Ray & Bea Dillard Field with a final score of 7-4. Things got going in the bottom of the 1st with home runs by Zach Cowart and David Lewis to take an early 3-0 lead. However, the Bobcats responded in the top fo the 2nd with three runs of their own. NGU would quickly reclaim the lead in the bottom of the 2nd when Cowart drove in a run with a groundout. After two scoreless innings, David Lewis increased the Crusader lead to two with a solo home run to left field. Landon Peavy would add a run in the 6th with an RBI single through the right side. After the Bobcats brought in a run to cut the deficit to two, Zack Cowart was able to get the run back with an RBI groundout. Matthew Taubensee entered the game to record his first save of the year. Caleb Cox, who pitched the 3rd and 4th innings, earned the win.

David Lewis hit two home runs and recorded a total of 3 hits, 3 RBIs, and 2 runs scored. Landon Peavy was also impressive, also finishing with 3 hits as well as an RBI. Thomas Powell hit 2 double and scored 2 runs.

The Crusaders will face the Tornado of King University on Friday, February 23rd at Ray & Bea Dillard Field.
